"Quality Integrator (RN) - Region 1 (4973)"

Under general direction, the Quality Specialist (RN) manages, performs and coordinates highly specialized quality management integration activities for the Office of Correctional Medicine's Expansion & Project Management Section within assigned facilities in accordance with policies and standards of performance. This position requires travel to correctional facilities within Region 1, including counties such as Bureau, Carroll, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Jo Daviess, Knox, Lee, Marshall, McDonough, Mercer, Ogle, Peoria, Putnam, Rock Island, Stark, Stephenson, Tazewell, Warren, Whiteside, Winnebago, and Woodford.

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 with a one-year employment commitment.

Duties (approximate time allocation):

• 25% of time: Provides professional nursing research, consultation, and quality management advisory input; assists in creating, reviewing, implementing, and training on clinical policies and procedures; collaborates with teams to solve quality challenges and recommend improvements.
• 20% of time: Assesses infection prevention, specimen collection, and healthcare service delivery; participates in chart reviews, researches best practices, and prepares reports on clinic operations and data analysis.
• 15% of time: Communicates audit results to partner facilities, develops performance improvements in clinical practice and infection control, and makes judgments based on evidence-based standards.
• 15% of time: Designs audit methods, identifies improvement opportunities, develops action plans, conducts site visits, and analyzes staff training needs.
• 15% of time: Reviews and interprets policies and procedures, answers nursing inquiries, and produces sensitive documents.
• 5% of time: Serves as coordinator or liaison to facilities and committees.
• 5% of time: Maintains awareness of organizational activities and trains staff on ethical aspects.
• 5% of time: Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in science in nursing (BSN).
• One year of Quality Improvement work experience in a clinical or healthcare field.
• Registered Nurse with demonstrated clinical experience.
• All candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications.
• Condition of Employment: Must establish Illinois residency within 180 days if out-of-state.
