About the Role

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow position within Hepatology. The post holder will hold an honorary contract with Barts Health NHS Trust to support the clinical elements of the role and to work as an honorary Specialist Registrar in the Department of Hepatology. The role will primarily be supporting the delivery of a portfolio of over 20 ongoing clinical trials relevant to liver disease and diabetes.

About You

The postholder should be a clinically qualified (MBBS or equivalent) graduate with Gastroenterology or Hepatology experience at a registrar level. The post will support a diverse and balanced portfolio of studies delivered across a relevant setting and population while promoting a broader and more viable range of sites to sponsors and investigators. The postholder should have a strong interest in liver disease and a strong ability to interpret information while demonstrating keen analytical skills.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

In addition to the usual academic staff of a university, the Institute also employs a significant number of clinical academic staff who are intrinsic to the delivery of clinical practice, primarily within Barts Health NHS Trust.
