Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Case Management Consultant to join Equity, People Services, Administrative Division.
The Senior Case Management Consultant provides specialist advice and leadership of the case management of complex interpersonal grievances, complaints and investigations, with a primary focus on student gender-based violence matters. The position provides high-level advice on policy, legislative and procedural matters, and prepares a range of correspondence, reports and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders. The role liaises and works closely with senior leaders across the University, including the Complaint Safety and Support Triage Services, and with relevant external agencies and organisations. The incumbent is expected to contribute to consistent University-wide practice, and to support a strategic and coordinated response to complex complaint and conduct matters.
We’re offering this role as a hybrid position as part of QUT’s commitment to embracing the opportunities created by a more virtual and connected world.
About us
QUT is a major Australian university with a global outlook and a 'real world' focus. We are an ambitious and collaborative institution that seeks to equip our students and graduates with the skills they will need in an increasingly disrupted and challenged world.
Equity aims to ensure that our students and staff mirrors the diversity of the community outside the university, and that all students and staff thrive, regardless their background. The Department oversees a wide range of equity, diversity and inclusion strategic programs, projects and initiatives which promote respectful campus culture. The Respect and Safety Team, within the Equity Department, consists of a Program Coordinator and a small team of Partners who provide frontline specialised support, safety and risk planning to students. The implementation of the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence introduced significant and mandatory compliance obligations upon the University. To assist in the discharge of these obligations, the Respect and Safety Team leads university-wide prevention activities and responds to student disclosures and complaints/formal reports relating to harassment, threatening behaviours and violence.
What you need to succeed

- Proven experience providing high-level advice in a complex organisational environment, including governance, policy interpretation, institutional compliance and collaborative case management across multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated capability to work effectively in a matrixed or cross-functional environment, aligning processes and advice across multidisciplinary teams.

- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement in complex and sensitive matters.
- Advanced communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to influence, advise and communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including senior leaders, on complex interpersonal matters.
