Radiation Therapy Tech ARRT
The Department of Radiation Oncology is looking for a Radiation Therapist to administer doses of radiation as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist for the treatment of disease, utilizing ionizing radiation producing equipment. Operate in a safe and patient focused manner to provide high quality patient care. Work on a highly functional, large team at Michigan Medicine main campus with a requirement for flexibility within your team and dependent on clinic needs. Proficiency in delivering external beam radiation therapy treatments to cancer patients, as well as experience working on a CT simulator.
- Assist in simulation procedures and preform patient treatment education and training for EBRT
- Deliver EBRT treatments using Varian linear accelerators ranging in complexity from standard 3D treatments to SBRT and SRS
- Help to maintain all equipment in a safe and satisfactory working order, reporting all replacement needs to the Chief or Assistant Therapist
- Assist in variance tracking and the reporting of near misses and aid in the root cause analysis to introduce process improvement in an effort to avoid reoccurrence
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with coverage where and when the team requires the help
- Help to identify areas of operational inefficiency and participate in the implementation of department growth initiatives
- Participate in the development of the clinical policies and procedures pertinent to the success of the department and safety of the patient
- Serve as a resource to patients and other healthcare providers at Michigan Medicine
- Provide support and assistance in RTT student teaching, including guiding students in clinical tasks, reinforcing course objectives and promoting a positive learning environment.
- Graduation from high school; graduation from an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Registration or registry-eligible in radiation therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- This classification requires Primary Source Verification
- Competent and proficient performing all procedures relating to patient treatment including: OBI,CBCT,SDX, and use of Aria software
- Must be a team player who is able to handle themselves in a professional manner and work well within a large, diverse team
- Builds constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect
- Responds positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems
- Builds credibility as a representative by demonstrating personal commitment and sharing information
- Above average attendance
Five days, 40 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the clinic
