Ragon Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital – Neurological Research Faculty

The Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard and the Mass General Brigham (MGB) Department of Neurology seek an outstanding physician-scientist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to conduct basic or translational research at the Ragon Institute while engaging in patient care at MGB in the Department of Neurology. The Ragon Institute was established in 2009 as a joint institute comprised of faculty from MGH, MIT, and Harvard University with a focus on human immunology and host-pathogen interactions. The MGB Department of Neurology provides superior clinical care while rapidly discovering treatments to reduce and eliminate the devastating impact of neurological disorders. The Ragon Institute and MGB Department of Neurology are searching for a candidate who will have a joint appointment and combine an innovative, dynamic research program with excellence in patient care.

We aim to attract candidates with diverse backgrounds whose research aligns with the missions of the Department of Neurology. Particular areas of mutual interest include human neuroimmunology, systems neuroimmunology, computational biology, and immune aspects of neurodegeneration. The successful applicant will establish an extramurally funded research program, collaborate with members of the Department and the Ragon Institute, and contribute to training and developing research fellows.

Candidates should have an MD or MD PhD (or equivalent), have a record of scholarly achievement and productive collaborations with other investigators and clinicians, and demonstrate excellence in patient care. The candidate’s appointment will be jointly in the Department of Neurology at MGB and at the Ragon Institute with an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. We seek candidates with a clear commitment to diversity and inclusion, multidisciplinary collaborative science, and education and mentorship of trainees.

The successful candidate will be provided with a generous start-up package in addition to laboratory and office space in the newly constructed Ragon Institute building in Kendall Square, and access to state-of-the-art facilities with extensive core resources including advanced flow cytometry, microscopy, BSL2/3 facilities, a vivarium, and a large clinical specimen repository. Salary, start-up, and lab space will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements.

To apply, please send a three-page research statement, Curriculum Vitae, and names and contact information of three references to: ragonfacultyrecruiting@mgh.harvard.edu. Subject line “Ragon/MGB Neurology Faculty Application Enclosed.”

Review of applications will begin December 1, 2025. All applications received by that date will be given full consideration. Applications received after that date will be reviewed intermittently until the position is filled.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy and pregnancy-related conditions or any other characteristic protected by law.
