The School of Science and Engineering grants degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. MS and PhD degrees are granted in Cell Biology & Biophysics, or Molecular Biology & Biochemistry. The Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences supports research in many areas including biochemistry, structural biology, cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, RNA biology, and virology.

The Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or Associate Teaching Professor in Biology. The teaching position will involve teaching undergraduate and possibly graduate courses, including "Introduction to Biology for Non-Majors", upper-level courses in critical thinking, and courses involving your particular expertise (contribute to existing courses or develop on your own).
The primary attributes we seek in candidates are the potential or demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring. Experience supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds is a plus.
Anticipated start date is January 1, 2026, negotiable. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefit-eligible, ranked non-tenure track faculty position. Opportunity for ranked promotion is provided. Our academic schedules and workload provide for a positive work/life balance. Summer teaching may be available with sufficient enrollment.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D., (or M.D., D.D.S., or D.V.M.) by the start date.
Experienced MS or MA will also be considered with significant biological teaching experience.
Postdoctoral experience is encouraged.
All applicants should have experience with teaching biological concepts.
Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a 9-month, benefit-eligible, full-time (1.0) faculty appointment eligible for ranked promotion.
