Posting Context Statement:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President for Finance and Planning within the Division of Finance and Administration, this role leads acquisitions, leasing, and real estate planning efforts that directly support academic, research, and student success priorities. The officer will work closely with campus leaders, local governments, and community partners to deliver projects that are fiscally responsible, mission-driven, and impactful to the long-term growth and sustainability of the institution.
Position Overview:
This position conducts real estate transactions on behalf of university.
Job duties include:
- Advising executive leadership and administering processes and methods required to consider and execute property acquisitions, disposals and leasing
- Negotiating detailed business terms of university real estate entitlements
- Managing real estate and lease inventory as an essential and active institutional asset
- Coordinating division and college real estate objectives with institutional and governing board policies and direction
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- Five years’ experience with real property planning, acquisition, and management
- Familiarity with public sector planning and zoning principles and practices
- Using computer software and applications for word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet research
- Managing projects independently that involve multiple stakeholders
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Other:
- Work nonstandard hours as needed
- Must posses a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university vehicles
Additional Preferred:
- Advanced degree in business, planning, law, architecture, landscape architecture, geography, or a related field
- Experience providing real estate services in higher education or other public sector environment
- Ability to foster and maintain harmonious working relationships and to manage issues in a team environment
- Knowledge of effective business usage, spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Detail oriented/attention to detail
- Experience with public relations
