Responsible for receiving and the distribution of food/beverage products and equipment according to standard practices and procedures. Maintain sanitation and safety standards in handling, transporting and storage of all products and supplies. Deliveries to the various outlets are made in a timely manner. Responsible for maintaining records and workflow in the Production Manager's absence. Provide constant training and supervision to the student workforce. Follow a weekly schedule rotation to assist other units in receiving and stocking products during high volume production. Responsible for recording weekly inventory, transfers and invoices. Notify Chefs and/or managers with any discrepancies in the daily flow of transfers. Vehicles and receiving equipment is operated according to standard policy and procedure. Defective and unsafe equipment and materials are reported to supervisor. All safety and sanitation practices are followed according to the state health code.
DAYS & HOURS:
Holy Cross Dining staff are considered Emergency Essential Personnel and are required to report during times of inclement weather. Must be flexible. Schedule may change depending on the needs of the department.
CURRENT SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday / 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Note: Flexibility required in schedule to Home Athletic Games & Events
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS POSITION
- Provides daily instruction, training, and leadership to the storeroom student staff.
- Ensures adherence to sanitation and safety standards in the handling, transportation, and storage of all products and supplies.
- Delivers orders and supplies to campus offices and Hospitality locations promptly and efficiently.
- Places food and equipment orders as required for campus Hospitality locations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Maintains work areas that are fully stocked, organized, clean, safe, and functional at all times.
- Delivers exceptional customer service to the campus community, maintaining a friendly and attentive demeanor.
- Assists with the setup, service, and cleanup of catered events as necessary.
- Accurately completes transfers and inventory data for the FoodPro system as needed.
- Ensures that all invoices are submitted to the business office in a timely manner.
- Follows the weekly schedule rotation to assist other units with receiving and stocking products during peak production periods.
- Reports any issues related to vehicles or receiving equipment to management promptly.
- Implements effective food waste management practices, including FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory control.
- Adheres to all state and local food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned or requested to ensure operational efficiency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION
- Up to two years related work experience is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 with assistance
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification or training is required. If training is not up-to-date, training/certification must be completed upon 3-6 months from date of hire.
- Food allergy training is essential and prior experience in special food allergy meal preparation is preferred. If a candidate does not have prior experience, the necessary training must be completed upon hiring.
- Excellent customer service and appropriate communication skills are needed in order to provide a welcoming, professional and safe environment for students and guests.
Salary: The hourly rate for this position is $21.50 per hour.
Weekly Hours: 40
