Description

Under direct supervision of the Campus Recreation Manager, Recreation Aides provide front-line support to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained fitness environment for students, faculty, and staff. Recreation Aides assist with daily operations, customer service, equipment oversight, and facility safety and cleanliness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist patrons; check IDs and enforce facility policies
• Monitor fitness areas to ensure safe and appropriate use of equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fitness center
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Safely lift, move, transport, and set up fitness center equipment as required
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and report equipment issues as needed
• Support special events, intramural sports, and general recreation operations
• Follow all NMHU policies, safety procedures, and risk management protocols
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an NMHU Student.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification or willingness to become certified.
• Current Defensive Driving Certification or willingness to become certified.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move fitness equipment (up to 100 lbs)
