Job Description:
Summary:
The Recreational Sports and Fitness Manager on Duty is a highly
visible job that requires a mature, responsible individual, with
experience in fitness facility operations. The MOD is responsible
for the daily operations of the fitness centers and supervision of
all on-duty staff.
Candidates must be available to work opening shifts (starting at
5:45am), closing shifts (ending at 12:15am), and must also be
available to work weekends shifts. Hours will vary depending on the
academic schedule each semester.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the fitness center’s main point of contact during
assigned shifts.
- Provide exceptional, proactive customer service to all
customers using the fitness center.
Supervise all on-duty fitness center staff, ensuring completion
of their job responsibilities.
Assist fitness center staff, when needed, in completing their
job responsibilities.
Respond to membership questions and process new member
transactions.
Conduct all point of sales and financial transactions.
Conduct and submit headcounts every hour.
Monitor facility and lead the education and enforcement of all
facility policies and procedures.
Ensure that facility & equipment is clean and working
correctly. Troubleshoot, fix, report, and/or document anything that
is not working.
Ensure facility is fully staffed and lead efforts to secure
substitute employees during emergency situations.
Accurately and thoroughly complete End of Shift reports and
send them out to the correct pro-staff at closing.
Accurately and thoroughly complete accident, incident,
equipment maintenance, and headcount reports, when
appropriate.
Serve as the lead responder during all facility emergencies and
incidents.
Attend all required meetings and trainings.
Maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Stay current on all RecFit policies, processes, and
procedures.
Serve as a leader and role model to all members of the RecFit
team.
Additional tasks as assigned (not limited to other position
responsibilities).
