Recruitment Announcement: BICMR and SMS, Peking University

Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research (BICMR) is a mathematical research institute sponsored by the national government of China. Its goal is to build a world-class mathematical center for research and education; and to provide a platform for scientific exchange and cooperation among Chinese and international mathematicians. All faculty members of BICMR have oversea academic experiences.

School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) of Peking University is a leading mathematical school of China with a long tradition. It has excellent working environment and academic atmosphere. SMS is an important base for talents training and mathematical research in China. It enrolls 160 excellent undergraduate and 130 graduate students from all over China every year.

BICMR and SMS have close cooperation in scientific research and talent training. Outstanding mathematicians from all over the world are welcome to apply positions in BICMR and SMS at many different levels including postdoctoral positions, assistant professorship, associate professorship, and professorship. Candidates with exceptional qualifications can also apply for special talent recruiting programs established by the national government, Peking University, or BICMR, such as , Chair Professorship of Peking University, Distinguished Professorship of BICMR, etc. BICMR and SMS have flexible policy for recruitment. Competitive salary and benefits could be provided according to qualifications of candidates.

Required Application Materials Include:

1. Cover Letter (could indicate which position to apply and expected salary level),
2. Curriculum Vitae (including a list of publication),
3. Research Statement and Teaching Statement,
4. At least two reference letters for postdoctoral positions and three reference letters for faculty positions (to be sent directly by the letter writers either by e-mail or regular mail).

Candidates are also welcome to submit other materials which could support their cases (for example, certificate of awards, etc).
