About the Team
The Recruitment Services team sits within People & Culture and plays a critical role in attracting and appointing high‑quality talent across the University. The team works closely with hiring managers to deliver consistent, compliant and positive recruitment and onboarding experiences for both internal and external candidates.
About the Role
We are seeking a Recruitment Officer to join our People & Culture team on a 6‑month fixed‑term basis. In this role, you will provide efficient recruitment administration and coordination support across the end‑to‑end recruitment lifecycle. You will contribute to a positive candidate experience while supporting hiring managers to deliver timely and compliant recruitment outcomes.
Position Key Duties
- Respond to recruitment queries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Process job requisitions in VU People First, including approvals and job advertisement posting
- Prepare and issue accurate employment offers in line with University policies
- Coordinate interviews and support recruitment activities, including documentation preparation
- Support onboarding processes and assist new starters with compliance requirements
- Maintain recruitment content across internal and external webpages
- Monitor recruitment activities to ensure compliance with legislation, policy and diversity and inclusion practices

Classification: HEP Level 5
Employment Type: Full‑time, Fixed Term (6 months)
Hours per Week: 36.75
Location: Footscray park (Hybrid working available)

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in HR or recruitment
- A strong customer service focus with the ability to build effective relationships
- Experience using HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
