Recycling Truck Lead
The Recycling Truck Lead is responsible for overseeing personnel and procedures of all OWRR activities and services. This position is responsible for OWRR crew leadership in the absence of the OWRR Supervisor. This position must maintain clean and safe conditions in all assigned disposal areas on campus; this includes, but is not limited to, general cleaning of campus trash compactors, dumpster corral areas, loading docks, and exterior waste receptacles on UNCG’s Campus. The primary purpose of this position is the complete the sanitation and recycling route, assist crew in correcting dumpster overflow issues, operate trash/recycling trucks and other fleet vehicles, perform basic maintenance, practice safe working habits, and assist in special events with trash/recycling assistance. This position will make independent decisions on prioritizing and modifying set routes and routines to adjust to changing campus disposal needs.
This position is mandatory as defined in the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK. REQUIRES APPROPRIATE LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS TO OPERATE ASSIGNED TYPES OF VEHICLES OR EQUIPMENT.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates:
- Valid NC Class B CDL.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of working in the refuse and recycling environment.
- Ability to follow instructions. Ability to follow procedural directions.
