We're currently searching for a Registered Nurse to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you would like to make a difference in the health and well-being of our VT students, please keep reading.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

1. You'll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and well-being of the Virginia Tech student population.
2. You'll be reporting to the Nurse Manager, in a Regular nine-month, 1500-hour, wage position.
3. You'll be responsible to maintain and promote the health of the student body at Virginia Tech by performing skills as a Registered Nurse under the supervision of Physician and Registered Nurse leadership.
4. You'll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
5. You'll be offered an hourly rate between $34.00 and $36.00, depending upon experience.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrates excellent professional nursing skills.
• Experience preferably in a college health setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to relate well with both patients and fellow workers.
• Demonstrates empathy for patients.
• Makes independent clinical judgments.
• Computer/Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in College Health Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE).

Pay Band: 4

Overtime Status: Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime

Appointment Type: Regular

Salary Information: $34.00 - $36.00

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; occasional Saturdays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Hours per week: up to 40
