REGISTERED NURSE- Brighton Center for Specialty Care - Operating Room
Job Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate cases for multiple specialties in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Nursing responsibilities are assigned under the clinical supervision of a nursing supervisor
- Coordinate and provide care for a multi-specialty surgical population, including pediatric and adult populations
- Perform advanced case review and collaborate care for Spine Surgical Specialty
- Perform patient transfers as needed
- Ability to lift twenty-five (25) pounds
- Ability to wear lead for surgical procedures
- Work collaboratively to prepare rooms between cases
- Participate in problem solving efforts for the department, on-going QA activities, new employee orientation, and student education
- Collaborate with BCSC Operating Room and PACU team for patient care

Required Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan
- Two (2) years or more of RN experience
- Five (5) years or more of recent (within the last two (2) years) Operating Room experience
- Recent (within the last two (2) years) Spine experience (both Ortho and Neuro) including both scrubbing and circulating expertise
- Recent (within the last year) scrubbing and circulating expertise in two (2) or more of the following services, including complex procedures: Plastics (i.e. combo case with immediate reconstruction, abdominoplasty, etc.) Orthopedics (i.e. total joint arthroplasty, arthroscopy, etc.) and Urology (i.e. microvascular procedures, implant procedures, etc.)

- Previous Charge Nurse Experience
- Previous Service Lead Experience
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Nurse Ambulatory Surgery (CNAMB)
- Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Salary & Nursing Framework Level
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
