REGISTERED NURSE : Mott Childrens Hospital (7 East Pediatric Cancer Unit)
Provide safe and effective nursing care as assigned to a varied patient population. Participate as a member of the collaborative health team. Work closely with patients and family members.
7 EAST MOTT is a 32 bed acute pediatric hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplant unit. Patients range in age from newborn to young adulthood. Patient diagnoses include sickle cell anemia, leukemia, lymphoma and solid tumors. Ongoing education includes a Chemotherapy Certification course, and an eight-day Bone Marrow Transplant course.
Expectations of position:
Requirements of the Commission on Cancer Certification must be met within the triannual certification window proportionate to hire or transfer to the oncology area, details provided by leadership.
Current Michigan RN license
Recent Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology RN experience

Current chemo certification
BSN preferred
Demonstrated excellent communication skills
Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Shift/ Hours: Nights, 8 hour shifts; Monday through Friday and rotating weekends
Location: Mott Children's Hospital-7 East, Pediatric Cancer Unit
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
