Registered Nurse - Student Health
Job Description:
Deliver high‑quality primary healthcare support to students in a busy, caring Student Health environment.
Mō te tūka | The role
In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive Student Health team providing high‑quality, student‑centred primary care. You’ll use your nursing expertise to deliver triage, treatment, preventative care and health education, helping students stay well and succeed in their studies. You will also contribute to a positive service culture, uphold best‑practice standards, and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Triage assessments and care for a wide range of student health needs
- Provide adult and childhood vaccinations (or complete training to do so)
- Manage Cold Chain and Immunisation Accreditation
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Support health‑related policies and service improvements
- Liaise with external health providers and suppliers
A Vulnerable Children's Check is required as part of the role.
Mahi & Wāhi / Utu | Work pattern, location & salary
This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus. Hours are 30 – 37.5 per week (0.8–1.0 FTE), negotiable, worked Monday – Friday during office hours (08:30 AM – 4:30 PM). Due to the nature of the work, the position is fully campus‑based.
The salary for this position is $90,000 – $95,000 per annum (based on 1.0 FTE), depending on experience.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
You will bring:
- A Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent)
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Recent clinical nursing experience (primary or community care preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a busy environment and take a proactive approach to care
- Solid administrative and IT skills (Medtech experience an advantage)
