REGISTERED NURSE (University Hospital-4C, Adult Cardio-Thoracic Telemetry Unit)
Utilize the nursing process to provide primary care to critically ill surgical patients/families who experience a wide variety of complex, multi-system health problems and to participate in health activities.
4C Adult Cardio-Thoracic Telemetry Unit is a 38-bed adult telemetry step-down unit specializing in the delivery of care to post-operative patients who have undergone cardio-thoracic surgeries such as heart valve replacements/repairs, coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) implants, heart and lung transplants, various lung surgeries and esophageal surgeries.
Current RN licensure to practice nursing in the state of Michigan. One (1) year of Telemetry RN experience. In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment. RESUME REQUIRED (for both internal & external applicants): You must attach a complete and accurate resume to be fully considered for this position.
BSN preferred. Telemetry experience. Recent ICU/ICU step-down experience. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated problem solving, leadership and effective delegation skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. ACLS or CCRN certification.

Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour. Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour. Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour. Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour. Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour. Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour. Hours/week: 32 hours (0.8). Shift: Night/Day Rotator shift, includes 50% weekend shifts (4 of 8 weekend shifts); 8 & 12 hour shift lengths. Staff may have opportunity to schedule less than 4 weekend shifts. Location: University Hospital-4C, Cardio-Thoracic Unit. Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census. This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
