Registrar
Dominican University New York seeks a dynamic candidate for the position of Registrar. Reporting to the Vice President
for Academic Affairs, the Registrar serves as the University's chief steward of academic records and enrollment services and is responsible
for the leadership, administration, and operational effectiveness of the Registrar's Office.
The Registrar serves as the functional
owner of the student records and leads the implementation of system enhancements, operational improvements, and regulatory compliance
initiatives, providing strategic oversight of student records, registration services, degree conferral, academic scheduling, curriculum
implementation, catalog management, compliance, and student information systems. The Registrar collaborates extensively with Academic
Affairs, Student Affairs, Admissions, Information Technology, Financial Services, Human Resources, Athletics, and other institutional
stakeholders to ensure the integrity, security, accuracy, and accessibility of student academic records and related processes. The Registrar
is responsible for ensuring compliance with university policies, accreditation standards, federal and state regulations, and external
reporting requirements while promoting student success through efficient, student-centered services and data-informed decision-making.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in
academic administration in higher education. - Significant leadership experience within a Registrar's Office or equivalent academic
governance function. - Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills; accuracy and attention to detail and excellent
computer skills including MS Word and Excel. - Demonstrated experience with student information systems.
Preferred:
- Experience in a private university setting.
- Experience with Jenzabar
J1. - Demonstrated leadership in major student information system implementations and integrations with other
platforms. - Experience establishing/enforcing registration governance, role-based access controls, and compliance
monitoring. - Experience with transfer articulation, catalog management, scheduling, and commencement operations.
- Experience
supporting retention, persistence, or student success initiatives through registrar-related data, policy, or process work. - Active
participation/leadership in professional organizations (e.g., AACRAO) and familiarity with national best practices.
Dominican
University New York, located in Orangeburg, New York, is 17 miles north of New York City, with approximately 1,400 students and 400 faculty
