Position Summary

The Registration Coordinator Lead carefully and patiently interviews patients and/or family members to obtain the most up to date information. Quality data collection includes accurate information including demographic, physician, insurance, employment and other miscellaneous information. The lead coordinates the admission process from pre-registration to the patients arrival on the nursing unit focusing on accurate data collection, quality service, and customer satisfaction. This includes timely registrations, the collection of quality data and continuous training to staff members, coaching and mentoring to departmental clinicians as applicable. Ensure accurate identification of managed care plans, network eligibility, and compliance with contractual requirements and alerts provider and/or patient as necessary regarding eligibility issues. Determines the patient financial responsibility and performs revenue collection. May perform daily balancing, coding and charge entry procedures related to cash posting.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 4 years of relevant experience required. 6 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
