Responsibilities
Sets-up and breaks-down folding chairs, tables, risers, podiums, furnishings, equipment, and/or other materials in support of educational events across the University. Utilizes basic hand tools for disassembly/reassembly of general office furniture. Performs light to heavy lifting of equipment, furnishings and materials for in-office or small office moves within buildings. Relocation of property may be accomplished with the assistance of other personnel or with the use of equipment such as flatbed dollies or hand trucks. May be responsible for lifting objects up to a minimum of 50 pounds independently.
Maintains overall relocation vehicle fleet. Safely operates relocation vehicles, inspects vehicles, and reports any needed repairs, service, or accidents to higher level supervisor immediately. Physically pickups and delivers surplus property to and from the FSU Surplus warehouse and operates relocation vehicles as needed (box truck, pickup truck, trailer, van, forklift, golf cart, pallet jack etc.). As needed, assist with moving of large items within Surplus warehouses.
Provides customer service support to departments. Responsible for distributing work on daily assigned projects, maintains a balanced workload, and defines work priorities, ensures the safety and security of the work team. Ensures pickups/deliveries are consistently performed in an efficient and timely manner, coordinating, and communicating adequately with university departments.
Performs off loading, stacking, or organizing supplies and/or equipment within warehouse or storage space. Provides support on an as needed basis to the Relocation Team, delivering supplies and equipment to buildings.
Maintains carpeted and hardwood flooring as needed through vacuuming, mopping or other applicable methods. Dusts and/or cleans horizontal and vertical surfaces. Cleans and sanitizes water coolers and public restrooms, restocking supplies when needed.
Qualifications
Completion of ninth grade.
A valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
