Scholarship Theme: Removal of Phenolic Compounds from Cigarette Smoke
Duration: 6 months
Maximum Duration Including Renewals: 10 months
Objectives
- To develop adsorbent materials for the selective removal of phenolic compounds from cigarette smoke.
- To characterize and evaluate the performance of the developed adsorbent materials
Work Plan
This thesis explores the use of neoteric solvents for the selective removal of phenolic compounds from cigarette smoke. The work combines computational screening, materials synthesis, and experimental evaluation to identify the best materials with enhanced affinity and selectivity toward phenolic species under standard operating conditions
