Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Clermont College invites applications for a full-time, AAUP Represented Adjunct faculty position in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) program beginning August 15, 2026. This is a Represented Adjunct faculty position at either the Instructor or Assistant Professor level (rank commensurate with credentials). It is a non-tenure track, contract renewable position with teaching (40%) and service/professional activities (45%) responsibilities equal to 85% full-time equivalent (FTE).
The service/professional activities portion of the position will primarily encompass Manufacturing Engineering Technology Laboratory Manager responsibilities supporting instructional laboratories, equipment operations, outreach activities, and long-term program development initiatives.
Initial contract length is three (3) years, with subsequent reappointments ranging from two to five years. This position is anticipated to be long-term and includes representation by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) bargaining unit and contracted benefits.
Essential Functions
Teaching Responsibilities (40%)
- Teach Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) and related engineering technology courses in lecture and laboratory settings. Required teaching responsibilities are composed of an average of 2-6 contact hours (usually 1 to 2 courses) in each of Fall and Spring semesters.
- Support student learning through laboratory instruction, open lab hours, tutoring, and project assistance.
- Develop and maintain instructional materials, laboratory exercises, and safety documentation as required.
- Support curriculum, assessment, and program development initiatives related to MET and future program pathways.
Service / Professional Activities – Laboratory Manager Responsibilities (45%)
- Manage and maintain manufacturing and engineering technology laboratory equipment including CNC, PLC, robotics, industrial electronics, 3D printing and related systems.
- Coordinate laboratory setup, teardown, scheduling, safety compliance, inventory, and equipment readiness.
- Provide technical support to faculty and students during laboratory activities.
- Support outreach, recruitment, industry partnerships, and workforce engagement activities as needed.
- Assist with long-term laboratory planning, equipment modernization, and program growth initiatives.
