Research administrator with economics, Department of Oncology-Pathology

At Karolinska Institutet, there are 21 independent departments and a centrally organised joint support service. The departments conduct world-class research and education. To support researchers and teachers, each department has its own administration.
This position is located at the Department of Oncology and Pathology and here you will be part of a group of committed, happy and competent colleagues who will be there to support you in getting into the business.
There is currently a need among some research groups within the Department of Oncology and Pathology to receive administrative support in addition to what is normally included in the assignment of the administration at the department. The administrator is intended to be seen as part of the research group, even if the employment and physical placement are located in the administrative group.
Your mission
The administrator is intended to be seen as part of the research team. The need for administrative support varies for different groups, but may include, for example:
- Assist the research group with different types of orders, e.g. by making call-offs from existing framework agreements of various kinds
- Ordering travel and assisting in reporting expenses in connection with these
- Approve invoices
- Administer conferences, courses and summer courses
- Support with bookings of hotels, trips, etc. for potential guests
- Produce balance reports and assist with financial follow-up
- Be able to support in which grants can be used for different types of costs
- Support for managers regarding extension of employment/scholarship in the group in contact with the department's HR function
- Administrative support for research applications
Who are you?
The research administrator is a central person in our activities and should have experience of administrative work that fits the tasks described above, desirable in government or other public activities. You are a person who likes to work independently and enjoys providing good service. Your work is characterized by your own ability to initiate and proactive work. You have no problem working against different deadlines and can set up your own work so that you can meet them. We see that you are a person who is easy to collaborate with different people and has a good ability to solve unforeseen problems.
Demand:
- We are looking for someone with at least high school qualifications and 2–3 years of documented administrator/finance experience
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
- Good knowledge of the Office package
- Great computer skills and knowledge of internet-based systems
- The research administrator is a central person in our activities and should have an interest in economics
