New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Research AI Scientist reporting to Research Data Scientist II.

This role will leverage cutting-edge machine learning techniques and contribute to advancing our AI capabilities. This role will be instrumental in developing algorithms that solve complex problems and enhance our product offerings, making a significant impact on our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with faculty and researchers through collaboration and support to advance their research work using AI (NLP, ML & CV)
• Conduct research on machine learning and artificial intelligence methodologies to develop novel algorithms that drive product innovation
• Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses, analyze data, and derive actionable insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing products and workflows
• Conduct training, engagement and outreach to the researcher and faculty community

Required Education:

• Master's Degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field

Preferred Education:

• Doctoral Degree in a related field

Required Experience:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, scikit etc.) and experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Strong background in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications
• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
• Strong coding skills in Python or similar languages, with experience in version control systems like Git
• Ability to develop applications using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience
• Ability to keep up to date with technological advances
• Ability to work in a team-based environment and contribute positively to it
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Ability to work with individuals at all levels and diplomatically manages their expectations
• Creative problem-solving abilities and initiatives
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong presentation and report writing skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills are essential
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities in an effective and professional manner

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with large-scale machine learning systems and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning, natural language processing, or computer vision
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate complex concepts effectively
• Proficiency with popular GenAI tools and frameworks (e.g. OpenAI ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama)
• Experience at working at a research university HPC center is highly preferred
