The passion of themolecular phytopathology

The group's mission is to generate fundamental knowledge about the interactions between plants and their pathogens. To achieve this, we utilize cutting-edge molecular methods in genetics, plant biology, genomics, cell biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and microbiology. Together with the plant breeding industry, the agricultural and horticultural sectors, and other societal partners, we translate fundamental knowledge and new insights into solutions for societal problems.

A good salary

Your salary will be determined based on your experience and seniority, in accordance with theCollective Labor Agreement for Universities

Your classification and therefore the amounts mentioned are based on a full-time employment contract of 38 hours per week.

232 vacation hours

We also offer parental leave, partner leave, and community service leave. Additional vacation hours are available through the Terms and Conditions Menu.

Financial arrangements

In addition to your salary, you'll receive holiday pay (8%) and a year-end bonus (8.3%). You'll build up a good pension with ABP. We also offer many other benefits and arrangements.

What are you going to do?

As part of the group, you will be involved in supporting quality control of fungal cultures and developing new procedures and protocols. You will also contribute to experiments necessary for the completion of dissertations and publications. Furthermore, you will support the staff and lab managers and participate in scientific and other activities within the group, the cluster, and the institute.

The research group falls within theGreen Life Science cluster

(GLS) which is part of theSwammerdam Institute for Life Sciences

, one of the eight institutes of the Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam.
