Research Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking a Research Analyst who will work primarily on an NIH-funded research study investigating healthy aging in autism spectrum disorder. The Research Analyst will get hands-on experience in the administration and study execution, team-science, and protocol development and implementation. The individual will have the opportunity to develop their research skills across multiple methodological approaches, including cognitive and behavioral assessment and multimodal neuroimaging (MRI).
Responsibilities
The Research Assistant/Analyst will work primarily on one NIH-funded research study, with additional studies potentially added over time. The individual will have many opportunities to contribute to the scientific process and can expect authorship commensurate with contribution. Work duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Recruitment and scheduling of research participants.
- Maintains files and records of research data.
- Data collection from a variety of sources.
- Cognitive testing and interviews of research participants.
- Data entry and database management.
- May assist in the preparation of manuscripts and presentation materials.
- May edits research papers, project reports, and publication materials.
- May travel to a variety of sites both within and outside the University campus to obtain data.
Comments: Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required Nearly Continuously: Office environment. Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field, or equivalency, plus two years of related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
- A valid Utah Driver's License may be required in certain departments.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
The candidate will enjoy working as part of a research team. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in neuropsychological or cognitive testing. Preference will also be given to individuals with interest and/or experience working with adults with cognitive difficulties, developmental disabilities, and/or autism spectrum disorder.
