Research Analyst
The Research Analyst will work (50%) on the HOPE HOME Policing Study. The Research Analyst (Bilingual- must able to speak and read in both Spanish and English is required) will work on the HOPE HOME Policing Study, a longitudinal cohort study funded by the NIA examining the prevalence and severity of police enforcement encounters throughout the life course and prospectively, and to examine the impact of police enforcement over the life course on current health outcomes among homeless experienced older adults aged 50 and over. This position is a 50% appointment with the expectation to be in the office (1) day a week or as needed. Candidates in SF Bay area highly encouraged to apply.
The candidate will work on the HOPE HOME Policing Study. Incumbent will, under the direction of a Project Manager, engaged in activities including:
- Conduct structured and semi-structured interviews in person and over the telephone with participants in English and Spanish
- Conduct ethnographic observations in the field
- Code qualitative interview transcripts
- Analyze data to identify themes and patterns
- Manage and extract data through REDCAP and similar data capture instruments with support from Senior Analysts
- Contribute to data interpretation
- Ability to distill complex data into meaningful summaries, reports, and visuals
- Conduct weekly data cleaning activities
- Keep study databases updated
- Call participants and send reminder letters to maintain retention rates
- Conduct field tracking locating participants
- Management of study petty cash for participant payments
The Research Analyst will be expected, after an initial period of training and observation, to work independently, with oversight by the Project Manager. The position will require a flexible and hybrid work schedule. This study office is located at an off-site location in Oakland, California. This position will be required to work on-site at least once a week but may be required to come on-site more to accommodate project needs.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $80,000 (Annual Rate).
