The Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB) is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet, focused on basic research in biomedical sciences.
You will work in the group “Proteomes of Metabolism” led by Assist. Prof. Florian Rosenberger.
Your mission
As a research assistant, you will use our spatial proteomics pipeline (Deep Visual Proteomics) to generate quantitative proteomics data from tissue specimens.
- Investigate how metabolic pathways are rewired by mitochondrial defects, using both patient samples and model systems (mouse and fly).
- Implement methods for advanced image analysis.
- Develop strategies for metabolic tracing in tissues.
You will collaborate closely with experts in mitochondrial biology and proteomics.
Your profile
You have a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Required skills: Strong motivation for interdisciplinary technology development, experience in interpreting biological data, molecular biology methods, good interpersonal skills, strong interest in omics and/or image data analysis (Python and/or R).
- Meritorious: Experience with proteomics and mass spectrometry workflows, knowledge of mitochondrial biology or metabolism, experience with Drosophila and/or mice, familiarity with CRISPR-based methods.
