Research Assistant (AIDF)

About NUS AIDF

The Asian Institute of Digital Finance (AIDF) is a university-level institute at NUS focusing on digital finance, fintech innovation, and AI for financial services. AIDF works closely with industry, regulators, and academic partners. This position is attached to the Credit Research Initiative (CRI).

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support AIDF’s marketing, outreach, and engagement efforts within the Chinese-speaking community. This role sits at the intersection of research, communications, and ecosystem engagement, and will support AIDF’s visibility, partnerships, and thought leadership across Chinese-language platforms and networks.

The role is suitable for candidates who are detail-oriented, bilingual, and interested in fintech, AI, and financial research, while gaining exposure to a leading university-based research institute.

Job Description

Marketing & Communications Support

  • Assist in developing and curating Chinese-language content for AIDF’s outreach channels (e.g. WeChat, websites, newsletters, event materials).
  • Translate and adapt selected AIDF research outputs, announcements, and educational materials into clear and engaging Chinese content.
  • Support content planning, posting schedules, and performance tracking for Chinese-facing channels.

Outreach & Community Engagement

  • Support engagement with Chinese-speaking stakeholders, including industry partners, academics, professionals, and students.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting events, seminars, workshops, and delegations targeting Chinese-speaking audiences.
  • Maintain contact lists and support follow-ups with partners and community members.

Research & Ecosystem Support

  • Conduct research on trends, institutions, companies, and developments in AI, fintech, and digital finance relevant to the Chinese market.
  • Assist in coordinating contract-related processes, including first-pass drafting support, tracking revisions, and managing documentation.
  • Support internal teams with background research for presentations, proposals, and partnership discussions.
  • Assist with preparation of bilingual materials for meetings, events, and collaborations.

Administrative & Project Support

  • Provide coordination and administrative support for outreach-related projects.
  • Assist in tracking engagement metrics, compiling simple reports, and documenting outreach activities

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in a relevant field such as communications, business, finance, economics, public policy, legal or related disciplines.
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
  • Good writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in fintech, AI, digital finance, or technology-driven innovation.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Chinese digital platforms (e.g. WeChat, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili).
  • Prior experience in communications, marketing, research support, or community engagement.
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics or content performance tracking.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple internal stakeholders
