Offer Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support the development and implementation of experimental protocols investigating multimodal prosody in Catalan. The ideal candidate should be a native (or near-native) speaker of Catalan with a strong background in linguistics, psychology, education, cognitive science, speech and language sciences, or a related field. The successful candidate will contribute to the annotation, linguistic analysis, quality control, and organization of multimodal research databases using established coding protocols.
Main responsibilities
- Assist in the development, piloting, and implementation of multilingual experimental protocols for multimodal data collection.
- Process, annotate, and code speech and multimodal datasets.
- Contribute to the analysis of linguistic features of these datasets using established annotation protocols.
- Assist in the organization, documentation, quality control, and curation of research datasets.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project data repositories, ensuring compliance with FAIR data principles and Open Science practices.
- Collaborate with members of the research team in maintaining documentation, protocols, and research workflows.

- Experience in language transcription, annotation, or multimodal data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with research data management or repository curation will be considered an asset.

Eligibility criteria
- Native (or near-native) proficiency in Catalan: 20 points
- Degree in linguistics, psychology, education, speech and language sciences, cognitive science, or a related field: 10 points
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): General assessment of the candidate's academic background, research experience, relevant technical skills, and overall suitability for the position: 30 points
- Experience in language transcription, annotation, or multimodal data analysis: 10 points
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail: 10 points
- Experience with research data management or repository curation will be considered an asset: 20 points
Selection process
Candidates who obtain a score of more than 85 points will proceed to the interview stage.
The minimum score required to pass the selection process is 75 points.
The interview will assess the candidate's motivation, communication skills, and suitability for the research project.
