Description
The New York University Abu Dhabi Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seeks to hire a new research assistant to work in any of the lab research areas, to be involved in the development of open-source tools and resources, and to work on publications related to their work. CAMeL's mission is research and education in artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on natural language processing, computational linguistics, and data science. The main lab research areas are Arabic natural language processing (orthography normalization, grammatical error correction, morphology tagging, syntax parsing, readability assessment), machine translation, and text analytics. Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 180 publications and 20 language resources and tools. The lab website is http://www.camel-lab.com/. The position will target the rank of Research Assistant (with BS or MS). A strong preference is for individuals with (a) computer science or computer engineering degrees including previous experience in natural language processing or computational linguistics/language technologies degrees; (b) strong programming and software engineering skills, and machine learning experience; and (c) some research publication experience. Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred, but not required. Previous work on Arabic NLP is preferred but not required.
