Research Assistant (Cardiovascular Disease TRP)

Job Description

A Research Assistant (Clinical Research Coordinator) position is available at the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The role supports investigator-initiated cardiovascular clinical research and involves both clinical research coordination and administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will work with researchers and administrators, under the leadership of Professor Roger Foo, Principal Investigator and Vice-Dean of Research.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support ethics and regulatory submissions, including DSRB/IRB and HSA applications, amendments, renewals, and reporting
  • Coordinate training requirements and maintain regulatory documentation
  • Set up and maintain study files and databases, including investigator files, essential documents, and study logs
  • Conduct subject pre-screening; assist with informed consent, adverse event reporting, and follow-up with regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate and support subject visits, including study questionnaires, physiological measurements, and collection of non-invasive imaging data
  • Monitor studies to ensure compliance with institutional guidelines, HBRA, and ICH-GCP standards
  • Assist with study close-out activities, including archiving of study documents, post-study audits, inspections, and monitoring visits
  • Participate in study meetings, present progress updates, and prepare meeting minutes
  • Prepare study progress reports and documentation as required
  • Assist with procurement activities, maintain inventories of consumables, track orders, and keep purchase records
  • Support outreach activities and social media initiatives for participant recruitment and public awareness
  • Assist with coordination of programme-related events and meetings, including venue preparation and logistics
  • Provide support for wet laboratory experiments when required (training will be provided as needed)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred (fresh graduates with relevant exposure may be considered)
  • GCP-trained and familiar with Singapore’s clinical research regulatory landscape
  • Prior experience in clinical research or the healthcare industry is advantageous
  • Ability to converse in local languages is an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mature, professional, and able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, meticulous, well-organized, and able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Experience in managing large projects, facilitating meetings, or handling budgets is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Strong interest in patient interaction and clinical research
