With research thrusts across fields such as health and medicine, biofuels, air quality and more, CMU chemical engineering students are paving the way to healthier, cleaner, more efficient future for all.

Carnegie Mellon's Department of Chemical Engineering (CHEG) is seeking a part-time Research Assistants for the Torres research lab. In this role, the ideal candidate(s) will provide support on multiple research projects, gathering data and training students. This is a fixed-term position of up to 3 months and is inclusive of competitive salary and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows research plans in order to collect, record, and manipulate research data. Maintains accurate and detailed research records and files.
  • May test software prototypes. May interact with research subjects in order to perform job functions.
  • Performs basic data analysis in order to product reports. Documents results and processes.
  • Performs library research and field explorations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • A strong research record including academic experience.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and creative, enjoys working in a collaborative research environment
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated
