Summary:

We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate to support our new Horizon Europe project on designing, implementing and evaluating Compassionate workplaces. This role is offered as a fixed term contract ending on 31st December 2028 and will support the evaluation of Compassionate workplace interventions, manage and analyse qualitative and quantitative process and outcome data and disseminate findings in reports.

The project focuses on how to create a warm and supporting environment at work in which challenging life-experiences of

serious illness, death and loss are given a place. The project has partners from Austria, Greece, Sweden, Belgium, and the UK and is to be coordinated by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The project will use realist evaluation to explore which interventions work for whom in which circumstances. Mixed methods will be used to answer these questions.

Ideally, applicants should be able to demonstrate an established research interest in at least one of the following: (a) work and organisational psychology, (b) compassionate workplaces, (c) realist evaluation, and (d) qualitative and quantitative research methods. We also welcome applications from individuals with other research interests that are directly relevant to researching workplace interventions.

Based at Sheffield University Management School, the successful applicant will report to Professor Karina Nielsen, the work package leader for the evaluation of the compassionate workplaces interventions, which will be implemented in Austria,

Belgium, Greece, and Sweden
