About the role
Applications are being sought for a full-time 1.0 FTE (36.5 hours per week) Research Assistant at the UCL Institute of Archaeology. The postholder will undertake research as part of Professor Rodney Harrison’s team on the Horizon Europe-funded PITCH project.

The postholder will be required to carry out research in the area of cultural heritage and climate change policy and practice, including designing and running workshops and other events, undertaking desktop surveys of heritage and museum practices and policies relating to climate change, contributing to relevant practitioner toolkits, undertaking research to support the preparation of peer reviewed publications, undertaking evaluation of interventions relating to this topic in other parts of the PITCH project, and supporting the work of the PITCH project more generally (as appropriate).
The post is available from 1 August 2025 and is funded until 30 November 2027.
About you
The successful candidate will have an MA or MSc in Heritage Studies or Museum Studies, demonstrated knowledge of academic research practices, knowledge of policies, practices and conventions relating to heritage, museums and climate change and experience of working in a museum or heritage environment.
