In the Department of Computer Science and Automation in the Resource-Efficient Artificial Intelligence Group at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (Germany) is a vacancy for a
Research Assistant (f/m/d)
to promote their own academic qualifications within the meaning of Section 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) from 01.04.2026.
Your tasks
The position includes the following responsibilities:
- Own research in the field of digital computing theory and systems
- Preparation of teaching materials
- Conducting tutorials, seminars, and laboratory courses
- Support for lectures
- Scientific services for the research group: determining and processing data analyses, project work, project management, editing and contributing to publications and result reports, supervision of students, participation in administrative tasks
Your profile
For being part of the selection process is needed:
University degree (Diploma (Univ.), Master of Science, or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- English certificate at least level B2 or Master degree from a Master's program taught in English
- German certificate at least level B2 or Master degree from a Master's program taught in German
Following competences are desirable:
- Good knowledge and experience in the areas of digital circuits and systems, FPGA, digital interfaces, computer architecture, and design methodology for timing and power
- Willingness to engage in fundamental research
- Willingness to participate in teaching
- Suitability and adaptability in a research field and team with intensive interaction and rapid development
