Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to join Professor Tom Gur's research group in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge, UK.

The role holder will contribute to cutting-edge research in theoretical computer science, with a focus on computational complexity, cryptography, and quantum computing. Based in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge, world-leading centre for foundational and interdisciplinary research, the successful candidate will work on resolving open problems and developing rigorous mathematical proofs that advance our understanding of computation.

This role offers the opportunity to engage deeply with core challenges in theoretical computer science, alongside leading researchers in a collaborative environment that bridges computer science, mathematics, and physics. The position is particularly well-suited to individuals excited by abstract reasoning, formal methods, and the prospect of advancing the theoretical underpinnings of next-generation computation.

Candidates must hold a first level degree in computer science or relevant subject area, or have equivalent experience. In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.
