Research Assistant (Haematology & Oncology)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to perform drug response studies which are part of multi-centre clinical trials, involving 4 centres located in Singapore and Malaysia. We are offering a 1 to 2 years’ contractual employment with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage clinical samples (e.g. blood, bone marrow, or tissue derived from patients) according to approved lab protocols
  • Perform pharmacological assays including drug profiling, drug sensitivity and dose–response studies. May require to perform molecular assays or next generation sequencing to unravel drug sensitivity/resistance mechanisms
  • Ensure accurate documentation, data recording, and adherence to Good Laboratory Practices
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, and contribute to reports, presentations etc.
  • Laboratory safety and administration include maintaining inventories, procurement and compliance with biosafety & chemical safety regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with good honours in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Prior laboratory experience in isolation of mononuclear cells, cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular techniques, drug preparations, and data analysis tools will be an advantage. Training will also be provided for the selected candidate; candidates with no experience can apply
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks across laboratory and clinical workflows
  • Attention to detail and strong record‑keeping practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
