Role Overview
The postdoc will work on cardiac inflammation after myocardial infarction (MI), focusing on:
- Signalling pathways in cardiac-resident leucocytes post-MI.
- Using in vivo models, in vitro experiments, and multi-platform ‘omics’ approaches.
- Identifying novel targets to prevent progression to heart failure.
- Managing work packages and contributing to a multi-disciplinary team.
Essential Criteria
- Expertise with primary cells and standard molecular biology techniques: DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, cell culture, fractionation, flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays.
- Understanding of study design, statistical analysis, and scientific integrity.
- Strong written and verbal communication, IT skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to manage research and administrative tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized lab records.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with bulk/single-cell RNA sequencing workflows.
- Hold a Home Office personal licence.
- Familiarity with genomics and bioinformatics workflows.
