Contract: Full-time (35 hrs/week), fixed-term until 31 March 2028

State-of-the-art facilities for high-throughput screening, imaging, proteomics, viral & non-viral vector production, and integrative physiology.
Part of King’s Health Partners and hosts the British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence.

The postdoc will work on cardiac inflammation after myocardial infarction (MI), focusing on:

Signalling pathways in cardiac-resident leucocytes post-MI.
Using in vivo models, in vitro experiments, and multi-platform ‘omics’ approaches.
Identifying novel targets to prevent progression to heart failure.
Managing work packages and contributing to a multi-disciplinary team.

Expertise with primary cells and standard molecular biology techniques: DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, cell culture, fractionation, flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays.
Understanding of study design, statistical analysis, and scientific integrity.
Strong written and verbal communication, IT skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to manage research and administrative tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized lab records.

10 days/year for professional development (pro-rata).
Support for continued training and career progression through the Centre for Research Staff Development.
