As a Research Assistant at Orygen, the world's leading youth mental health research organisation, you'll play a crucial role in innovative suicide prevention projects. You'll contribute to the evaluation of an Aftercare Service for young people at risk of suicide and support the #chatsafe program, promoting safe online conversations about suicide and self-harm. This position offers you the chance to work with world-leading experts, engage directly with young people through co-design workshops, and contribute to research that will shape the future of youth mental health interventions.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Recruit Research Participants: Engage with young people in clinical settings and online communities for study participation.
- Facilitate Co-Design Workshops: Work directly with young people to shape interventions and research approaches.
- Collect and Analyse Data: Use specialised programs like NVivo, SPSS, and R for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Build Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with research teams and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to Publications: Assist in the preparation of conference papers, publications, and presentations.

You are a passionate researcher with a strong interest in youth mental health and suicide prevention, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to work sensitively with young people.

You may also:
- Hold a postgraduate degree (Honours, Masters, or substantial progress towards a PhD) in behavioural or social sciences or a related discipline.
- Have at least two years' experience in a comparable research assistant position or related setting.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in suicide prevention and youth-onset mental health disorders.
- Show evidence of ability and desire to build an academic or research career trajectory.
- Possess skills in applying quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Have experience or interest in working with adolescents and young adults.
- Ideally have experience in research in clinical and online settings.
- Be familiar with REDCap software.
