As a Research Assistant in Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry/Radiochemistry, you'll be at the forefront of developing new chemistry for radiopharmaceuticals. You'll have the opportunity to engage in innovative inorganic synthesis and radiochemical research, focusing on bioconjugation methodologies and radiolabelling of bioactive molecules. Working across multiple sites, including the Bio21 Institute and state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical research laboratory, you'll contribute to groundbreaking research with real-world impact on cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Advanced Research: Engage in inorganic synthesis, radiochemical research, and develop new chemistry for radiopharmaceuticals.
- Contribute to Publications: Prepare research reports and manuscripts for high-impact journals.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work with industry partners and participate in research seminars and conferences.
- Support Student Supervision: Assist in training and mentoring students, primarily at the undergraduate level.
You may be a great fit if: You are a highly motivated researcher with a strong background in chemistry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
You may also: Have completed or be near completion of a BSc (Hons)/MSc in Chemistry or a related discipline. Possess demonstrated experience in synthesizing, purifying, and characterizing organic molecules for metal ion complexation. Have a sound publication record in relevant areas, commensurate with your experience. Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Show strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. Have experience in assisting with supervision of undergraduate research projects.
