Research Assistant in Vaccine Immunology
About the role
The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the extraordinary potency of vaccines in reducing infectious disease. It also provided us with an opportunity to understand more about vaccine induced protection. You will be part of a large consortium working together to dissect the mechanism of immune memory to vaccines.
What you would be doing
You will be working as part of a team studying immune response to vaccines, focusing on the memory response to immunisation. This will include testing vaccines in pre-clinical models and dissecting the immune response in order to determine the mechanism of immune memory induction. You will be expected to take a lead in planning and designing the studies (with support from the PIs).
What we are looking for
- In vivo/ pre-clinical experience
- Experience of working with biohazard class II and III pathogens
- Evidence of independent research
