"Research Assistant/Lab Manager, Harrogate"

The Research Assistant/Lab Manager for the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) - Harrogate (LMU-DCOM) is a full-time position responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the Research laboratories. This person will also assist with coordination of organizational aspects, execution of clinical trials, technical measures and duties as assigned to serve the needs of Faculty & students participating in research at DCOM at LMU-Harrogate.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in biology or related field;
* Prior experience in a research laboratory setting.

Job Duties
* Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and the community at large.
* Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students;
* Work closely with the Assistant/Associate Dean Research, Research Director(s) and other Faculty and students;
* Maintain supplies needed for the laboratory by acquiring quotes from sales representatives, creating purchase requests, communicating with research administration to acquire orders, track shipments and verification of delivery, and unpacking deliveries in a timely manner;
* Place service requests and schedule preventative maintenance of all equipment owned by DCOM;
* Coordinate with other laboratory managers to schedule preventative maintenance of shared equipment;
* Coordinate with the campus safety officer on rules, regulations, record keeping and storage of chemicals associated with the DCOM-Harrogate Research labs;
* Oversee safety and security checklists and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment;
* Assure the observance of quality control management;
* Assist in maintaining day to day usage and responsibilities for the laboratory spaces including but not limited to MANS 422, MANS imaging suite and the zebrafish lab;
* Assist in performing experiments using techniques such as ELISA, bacterial culture, microscopy, PCR, flow cytometry, and HPTLC;
* Preparation of media, solutions, and reagents, routine autoclave sterilization, periodic cleaning of equipment and refrigerators;
* Provide support and/or assistance for manuscript and grant writing as appropriate;
* Assure that students understand the proper care for the Research facilities and the importance of a quality work environment.
