Job Summary
Perform molecular biology/biochemical experiments, minor surgical, microscopic, and statistical/computational analyses. Executes sample processing by microtome/cryostat sectioning.
Responsibilities
- Observe animals daily for clinical or behavioral signs of illness and provide treatments as directed by veterinary staff. Maintain mouse breeding colonies, including genotyping.
- Perform studies on Alzheimer's disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome using transgenic mouse models. Feeding special diets, administrating pharmacological drugs to mice, and weighting mice. Performing animal behavior tests.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research, basic science, or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research. OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years of experience in a research, basic science, or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.
