JOB OPPORTUNITY: Research Assistant (Part-Time, 10 hours/week)

Projects:
The RA will support Dr. Ozge Sensoy Bahar's research on an intervention project with adolescent girls and their families in Northern Ghana. Activities include coordinating the day-to-day activities of the study, including liaising with the field team, coordination of research activities, scheduling of necessary meetings, and development of study progress reports (including those required by NIH), data entry, and data analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- In collaboration with the PI and field research team, develop and track project timelines and outcomes
- Editing/reviewing study related materials with PIs
- Assist in IRB protocol preparation and submission
- Coordinate communication with the team in Ghana as well as other collaborators including initiation of weekly and monthly study meetings, and taking minutes
- Support preparation and submission of NIH progress reports
- Actively disseminate project findings, including preparing summaries, presenting at scientific conferences
Manuscript Development
- Conduct literature reviews
- Assist in manuscript development
- Endnote/reference management for publications
Data Management
- Data entry, data cleaning and data analysis for the study
Performance Evaluation Procedure
The RA will meet with the PI on a weekly basis to discuss completed tasks and plan activities for the following week. During these meetings the RA will also discuss professional development goals.
Required Education, Experience Skills and Abilities
- Current PhD student in public health, social work, or other social/behavioral science
- Experience working on a research study
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
- Experience with the cultural context
- Interest in intervention research
- Must have a high level of attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work on a team, and punctuality
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Knowledge of IRB protocols
- Excellent communication and organization skills
