Job Description Summary:
The Research Assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center will support biomedical research projects by performing laboratory experiments, assisting with animal and human subject's research, contributing to data analysis, and supporting scientific communication between a research laboratory and clinicians within the Department at KUMC.

Job Duties
- Complete and maintain valid training records including new animal user training, human subjects research training, and other required biomedical research training.
Required Qualifications
Education: Four years of experience in research of biology, biochemistry, or related area. Relevant education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in biology, biochemistry, or related discipline with minimum one year of experience in animal research.
Work Experience: 2 years of laboratory research experience.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
