"Research Assistant - Pharmacology & Toxicology"

Job Summary

Performs a variety of complex duties involved in a clinical study, a basic science or research laboratory in support of research initiatives; develops and evaluates new techniques and procedures; may coordinate and/or supervise activities of support staff.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

• Surgical experiments on the rodents and molecular biological experiments.
• Laboratory maintenance and upkeep.
• Animal husbandry and ordering.
• Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research. OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Knowledge of basic molecular biology and chemistry techniques. Strong surgical skills. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness and ability to work with research animals.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required). Salary Minimum: $17.88 hourly. Pay Band: B5. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: Until Filled.
