Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Professor Christina Chai on design, synthesis and characterization of compounds under a project on ‘Reducing the susceptibility of EV-A71 antivirals towards drug-related mutations’.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Carry out research as directed.
• Manage chemical inventory and purchasing within the PI’s group.
• Be involved in safety management and safety admin of the PI’s group.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

• BSc(Hons) in Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related areas.

Skills:

• Must be able to carry out synthesis of organic compounds with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to carry out purification and characterization of compounds.
• Must have good knowledge in organic and analytical chemistry.
• Should have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience:

• Research experience in synthetic chemistry (e.g FYP, UROPs).
