Research Assistant (Post-Doc)

Funded by the German Research Foundation, the Collaborative Research Center CRC 1701 “Port-Hamiltonian Systems”, invites applications.
The position covers the development of a benchmark platform for competitive comparisons of computer-driven methods for the solution of model systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- development, maintenance and scientific support of a benchmark platform in the project “Benchmark Platform for pHS” of the SFB 1701,
- independent research in the context of the SFB 1701,
- publication of scientific articles, presentation of results at workshops and conferences, including community work for the platform,
- attendance at and involvement in the events of the CRC 1701 and interdisciplinary cooperation, participation in colloquia of the CRC 1701.
PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- completed degree (master or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, physics or a related field,
- relevant PhD degree,
- strong analytical skills and proven research performance in port-Hamiltonian systems or a related area,
- sound knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g.: Python, Matlab) and interest in developing a benchmark platform for computer-based models in mathematics,
- ideally knowledge of data-driven and engineering applications,
- a good command of English,
- competent personality with initiative and commitment,
- high degree of independence and self-reliant work with pleasure in intensive interaction with the scientific community.

This is a qualification position within the meaning of the Science Time Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz WissZeitVG). The duration of the employment contract shall be appropriate to the scientific qualification sought.
